Course DescriptionThis Construction Program is designed for students with an interest in the building and construction industry. This Certificate II is designed to introduce learners to the recognised trade callings in the construction industry and provide meaningful credit in a construction industry Australian Apprenticeship. Students attending this course have the opportunity to experience skills and knowledge in Wood trades, Bricklaying, Concreting and Wall & Floor Tiling. This course combines practical work sessions and theory.
PathwaysThis course reproduces the role of entry level employees within the construction industry. Further study in Certificate II or III in Construction or School based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SBAT) or a full-time apprenticeship in the building construction industry may follow this
Other RequirementsWork placement in the Building & Construction Industry is strongly recommended to contextualise the program. Students must be 16 years of age to commence this program. Students will be required to wear steel capped safety boots, a Long Sleeve High Vis Shirt, Long Pants and Clear Safety Glasses

The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that are required in most Certificate III qualifications. To achieve this qualification, the candidate must demonstrate competency in: • 11 units of competency: The wide range of electives is drawn from Certificate III units of competency in CPC08 Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package.
