Course DescriptionCertificate I in Construction is designed for students with an interest in the building and construction industry. This program will work in conjunction with Service to Youth Council Inc (SYC) and Housing SA in renovating and remodelling existing Housing SA properties and will provide pathways to vocations within the building and construction industry such as carpentry, concreting, tiling, painting and decorating, joinery, plastering, bricklaying, landscaping and demolition. This course combines structured workplace training, practical work sessions and theory.
PathwaysThis certificate reflects the role of entry level employees within the construction industry. Further study in Certificate II or III in Construction and/or School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship or a Full time Apprenticeship in the building construction industry may follow this.
Other RequirementsWork boots (Steel capped), long pants and long sleeved shirt. Students will be supplied High Vis Tops and basic PPE equipment

Dates and Times35 weekly sessions at Youth Education Centre on Tuesdays from 08:30 until 15:00.
Commencement date 02/02/21.
Induction and White Card training during first week of the course at the Flexicentre. Students are unable to attend building site until this training has been successfully completed.
