Course DescriptionThis course has been designed to prepare students in competencies for work entry program providing grounding in safety and basic skills and knowledge for work in any electrotechnology discipline. It comprises of classroom-based study and workshop practicals.
PathwaysOn completion of the qualification it will provide an entry point for students wishing to become an Apprentice Domestic or Commercial Electrician, Data Technician, or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic.
Other RequirementsSteel capped boots, 100% cotton long sleeve high vis shirt (supplied by PEER) and long pants are compulsory. No Polyester blends.

To be awarded the qualification, Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start), participants are required to successfully complete all 14 units of competency. Participants who exit the program without completing all of the units will receive a Statement of Attainment identifying those units that they have achieved.

$220 is the 'gap' fee. This course is a Flexible Industry Pathway subsidised by the Department for Innovation and Skills

Selection ProcessMust have Satisfactory pass at Year 10 English and Year 10 Maths Attendance to Information sessions is required to initiate the LLN testing (VETRO Process). Dates to be advised.
Orientation DetailsOn your first day of training meet at Student Services (Blue building off gate 2, Marden Road). Here you will be met by a Marden Staff member and taken to your classroom.
