For the first-year units of competency have been packaged into semesters. Students have the opportunity to progress through the course semester by semester in year 1 with those who are committed to working toward completing the full qualification to undertake a full year of study in the 2nd year.
Course DescriptionGAMES DESIGN. This qualification reflects the role of a skilled artist designer or programmer in game design or development who applies a broad range of competencies in varied work context using some discretion and judgement and relevant theoretical knowledge
PathwaysCertificate lll is a pathway to Certificate lV level courses in Digital Media, Design Screen, Game Art and Visual Effects. Students could further their education in Adelaide at Academy of Interactive Education (AIE), CDW Studios, TAFE, University of South Australia and Flinders University. Information sessions from AIE and CDW Studios are presented to the students every year. The Certificate III is a pathway to further study that would assist in gaining employment in the screen and media industries (i.e. Character design, 3D modelling and animation, Website design and more).
Other RequirementsStudents will need to have ongoing access to an internet connection to be able to digitally submit work. Students will need to have a strong commitment in meeting deadlines and be highly organised, also having good general computing skills including the ability to use a variety of programs, software applications and file management.

This course is delivered by Open Access College on behalf of Marden Senior College RTO under a third-party agreement. Lessons are online.
